Governor Morgan was elected a director of this bank the 24th of June, 1843, to fill a va cancy caused by the resignation of the late Jona than Sturges ; and this record would be incom plete did it not testify to the faithfulness with which he discharged his duty, especially as chairman of the committee on the state of the bank, and did it not show how, with advancing years, he won upon the respect and admiration of his associates of the bank, who now mourn the loss of an upright, dignified and judicious counsellor and friend.
