" For five consecutive days, he liad been giving brilliant, ex- hausting service to his country and, apparently, had weathered the stress. No wonder that he had been advised that he might kill himself, and, no wonder, either, to those who Imew him, that he kept on, to the end, "in noble scorn of consequence.
