What reading level is Industry And Property a Plea for Truth And Honesty in Economics And for Liberty book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:

This might give satisfaction to Mr. Tom Mann and a few others hke him, but what would become of the hundreds of thousands of persons employed in these indus- tries ? It will be seen, therefore, that an Eight Hours law, if enacted, would seriously injure our national industries, whilst at the same time the results anticipated from it by the enthusiasts who are striving to force it upon the country could never be realised. A common-sense view of the matter shows at a glance that shorter hours of ...labour would mean less work ; less work would mean less production ; less production would mean less wealth ; less wealth would mean less capital ; less capital would mean less demand for labour. How can such a state of things benefit anybody ? It would not benefit anybody, least of all the working man, who besides having his work and his wages reduced, would be subjected to coercion and espionage which would be intolerable. * To the employer in thousands of cases, an Eight Hours Bill would be simply fatal.
