For example, the feeling-tone of our pulmonary activities. But the human mind cannot stop at this stage of its experi- ence; and just as it develops sensation into perception and knowledge, so by adding its mental elements to the experience of feeling, it will lift pain-pleasure into a higher stage of develop- ment.
