The Irish princes, forgetful of their old sufferings at Scandinavian hands, sent an embassy to solicit Haco's help against the Anglo-Normans, although there had been active diplomatic intercourse between the courts of Norway and of England for more than a century ; an instance of which, in the case of this very Haco, can be seen in Royal Letters of Henry III.
