Everyone in Louisiana is thoroughly acquainted with the native persimmon, and as this bulletin has to deal with the foreign species, nothing especially will be said concerning the native, unless it is to mention that they are very much neglected, and unfortunately so, as there is no doubt but that they are capable of being greatly improved by selection, cultivation and crossing.
