" Here follows the account of David's coming to the court of Achish, King of Gath, from whence he escapes by feigning insanity. 98 In the Rabbinic version of this Biblical story, David in his extremity prays for the gift of madness, which is granted him for the moment. And the story ends with David's joyful exclamation, "How desirable is Mad- ness !
