In the meantime, General Edward Johnson with Jones', Nicholls', and Stuart's brigades, of his division, assaulted the Federal position on the steep and rugged hill next to Cemetery Hill, and under a heavy fire drove the Federals into their intrenchments, a part of which was taken by Stuart's brigade.
