Mr. Wilcox gave himself unreservedly in re-thinking the mission and the scope of the work of that institution. After care- ful study of other junior colleges, he adopted a self-help, co- educational system that made its appeal to the students who craved an education but could not pay the costs involved at other standard colleges. Under this new system, the enrollment of students greatly increased.
