Orderedf That tue assistant secr6tary make the above requesi, i'he secretary of state in compliance with the above resolution and request, transmitted lo the senate the re- port of the coKinnssioncrs appointed for that purpose^ which is as foUovvs viz : The undersigned commissioaers in behalf of the state of Indiana, duljf appointed by the General Assem- bly of said state to select and locate a site for the per- ojaneut seat of its governiiient report ; That ia coaformity to a proclamation of Jonathan Jefiuings, Governor of the said state, the under- signed met at the house of Williaai Conner, on the west fork of White river, and after having taken the oaths or alfirmatiaas respectively required by law, proceeded to the execution of the important trust assigned them, by an act nf the General Assembly of the state cf Indi- ana aforesaid, entitled an act appointing commission- ers to select and locate a site for the permanent seat of government of Indiana, approved January 11, J820.
