[Laughter and applause. ] The Republican Party is the only party that ever existed, so far as I have been able to ascertain— so far as any history or record can be found, either in Sacred or Profane History — it is the only party that has ever existed on earth which has not one single, sol- itary, unfulfilled pledge left— not one.
