RS: How was that?
Bird: The Alumni Association was formally established in May, 1946. A year later its members celebrated with a first anniversary dinner. I was their guest of honor, for I, too, was celebrating my thirtieth year of service in the district to which I had come as a high school teacher in fall, 1917. There were representatives present from every junior college class from 1920 through 1947.
