And as the moon receives all its light from the sun, in the same way as the earth does, so, as it keeps mov- ing round us, we do not always see the whole face of the moon, which is lighted by the sun. This is what we call an eclipse of the moon. An eclipse of the moon, means the hiding of a part or the whole of its light ; and the same holds good in regard to the sun.
