Cairo, Feb. 2, 1898.
MY DEAR WHITE : We met with so many delays at Genoa, Naples, and Port Said, and finally Ismailia, at which last delightful resort we passed nearly a day, that we arrived here about midnight on the 31st of January. We have therefore been in a great hurry and scramble to get away, as our boat is eating its head off on the river bank. We will try to see a little of Cairo when we return.
