The practice of putting crash over carpets has proved so unhealthyto the dancers, on account of the fine fuzz which rises from it indancing, that it is now almost wholly abandoned; and parquetfloors are becoming so common, and the dancing on them is so muchmore agreeable in every way, that ladies have their heavy parlorcarpets taken up before a ball rather than lay a crash.
