" She concealed the fears the boor had awa- kened in her mind, and with much grace, as- sured the persons present, that to give pleasure to so faithful a servant as the one who had invited her, she had granted his request, and was ready to pledge him in a glass of brandy She added, that to give a further proof of her kindness and interest for him and his friend-, she would treat all those assembled, including the host.
