What reading level is Metallography book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:

The addition of other metals, mostly belonging to the groups closely related to iron, is now largely practised as a means of improving the properties of steel. The "special" or "alloy" steels are very numerous, and only the briefest reference to them can be made in this place. The addition of another metal may affect the metallographic character of steel in four different ways, namely: by entering into solid solution in either a- or y-iron, thus giving rise to stronger or tougher varieties of f
...errite or austenite ; by forming new car- bides ; by lowering the temperatures of transformation of carbon steels ; and by retarding molecular change and diffusion. All these factors are present in the cases of greatest technical importance. The determination of the carbides present in ternary and more complex steels has been accomplished in 1 P. Goerens and K. Ellingen, Metallurgie, 1910, 7, 72.
