'■ 217 The Comon Council, pursuant to the Business of the day, pro- ceeded to the Ellection of the Mayor for the Ensuing Year, and Isaac Norris, Esq% was chosen by Majority of Votes, Who being present refused to take upon him the sd Office; Whereupon his fine is Left to the Consideration of the next Council, where he is to give his reasons, (if he have any, ) for his Refusall, And then The Board proceeded to a new ellection. And James Logan, Esq', was ellected Mayor by Majority of Votes.
