In so far as he pays his way, as he often does, with cheques on his London bank, he is himself producing claims on London, which finally come home to him by way of the foreign exchange dealers, generally after many months, and with a string of endorsements on the back of them, which show that they have been acting as a medium of many purchases and sales in the country in which he shed them.
