Before embracing any option which seeks resumption of rail service on the Plentywood-Scobev or Glendive-Circle lines, the degree to which BNSF will cooperate with or indeed, allow, continuation of that rail service must be considered, including revenue divisions supportive of short line operation. As stated above, both lines would require annual subsidies (or increased carloads) to support rail operations, at least $131,000 with regard to the Plentywood-Scobev segment, and at least $235,000 for the Glendive-Circle line .
