This is considered a strong multiplier effect, but is not surprising given the high wages paid to workers in the coal industry.
Second, we found that every dol- lar paid in wages and benefits to reclamation workers resulted in an additional $0.53 paid to other workers in the region. This mul- tiplier is considerably lower, but not unexpected given the types of jobs created in the region.
