I am from southwestern-central Mon- tana, spending my life in or around the Absaroka and Beartooth Mountains. If you're from west of the divide and haven't heard of the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness, you're not alone. Many peo- ple haven't. Some say, "Good, let's keep it that way," but I think this is one area of Montana containing riches found nowhere else in the lower 48.
The Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness is the second largest wilderness area in the state.
