About the same num- ber were spotted in November on the Kootenai River just downstream from Libby Dam, feeding on fish filtered through turbines. Biologists speculate that the Hauser Reservoir eagle congre- gation is probably made up of different eagles than those formerly at Glacier.
People flocking to Hauser Lake below Canyon Ferry Dam took resource agen- cies by surprise. The first weekend after Thanksgiving, hundreds jammed both sides of the river and the eagles moved downstream to quieter grounds— and out of view.
