What reading level is Montana Outdoors Vol 22 No 6 Nov/dec 1991 book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:

The cougar is one of the few predators that worries the well- defended porcupine. The cougar dexter- ously flips the porcupine over, exposing its soft belly. However, in Montana and in most of the West, cougars are ubiquitously tied to deer and elk.
COUGARS SHARE CERTAIN TRAITS with others of the cat family that suit their predatory life style. They have short, robust legs and small lungs adapted for stealth and short sprints rather than long chases.
Their short, flat noses suggest that the sen
...se of smell is none too keen. But what they lack in smell they more than make up in eyesight; their large eyes are are close together for acute, stereoscop- ic vision. Their night vision is enhanced by a mirrorlike layer of tissue (the tapetum, pronounced ta-PEE-tum) be- hind the retina. That greenish-gold shine reflected from its eyes when a cat is captured in a headlight is light reflected from the tapetum. The nar- row, vertical slit that you think of when you think of a cat's eye— and the valuable marble named after it— is actually the pupil closing up in daylight to protect the elaborate adaptations for vision.
