After interrog- ating those in the party it is deter- mined that they are in violation of Montana Fish and Game laws, evi- dence is seized, citations are issued and the defendants are requested to appear in court at a later date since it will be days before they can reach a magistrate.
This is an example of a fruitful trip, but not all trips end this way.
Many times the weather is adverse and the enforcement officer finds twenty or more miles of cold, wet, muddy trail awaits him as he takes to the saddle.
