The circa 1912 Acme Building of Billings was listed because of its
...associations with the exuberant commercial expansion that occurred in Billings in the 1910s. The building was used as retail space, a theater, and a hotel, all of which contributed to the growth of commerce in the city.
Also listed was the 1908 Adams Hotel, one of Lavina's first and most substantial commercial buildings. The hotel is representative of the construction boom that accompanied the arrival of the Milwaukee Road. The property gains additional significance as an excellent local example of Colonial Revival architecture and for its association with the prominent Montana architecture firm, Link and Haire.
