In 1895, we performed the Vouzou graft on Bouschet-hybrids already grafted on Biparia, and they succeeded without exception.

Up to the present our own experience leads us to think that there is no method of grafting vines cheaper, and offer- ing greater security of strikes, than budding. With this mode of grafting above ground, the vines may be placed under the same conditions of culture and propagation as other ligneous species. We must admit that the Salgues and Vouzou methods have not up to the present given the results one expected from them, but we must remember that the same fact occurred at the beginning of reconstitution.
