I want to thank the members of the Faculty Club for this life-membership in the N. E. A. I hope I may live long enough to make it a wise investment. I appreciate it particular- ly because I am one of those who helped devise the scheme for thus increasing the permanent fund of the association. Dr.

The time has gone so rapidly and so pleasantly that it does not seem as if one tenth of a century has passed since my coming here. There have been the changes that must come with the passing of time. There have been possibly some improvements- I re- member well the first time that in a group of Pennsylvania educators I spoke about the desirability of having four year courses leading to degrees in the Normal Schools of this State.
