The Pali text of the legend has certainly not in view the Suna- paranta of Burma, but the Konkan, the Western country : Aparanta, as, in fact, the Burmese themselves also call Sunapa- lanta ; the Divyavadana calls the Konkan " ^ro«aparanta.
