Signed " ticianvs . f." A very charmmg pidure, brilliant, but yet mellow in colour ; the crimson of the Virgin's dress cleverly gra- dated, and prevented from crude contrast with the blue mantle by the introduction of the white rabbit, which brings all together. The heads, both of the Madonna and St. Catherine, are very beautiful ; and the adion of the Child, whose attention is arrested by the rabbit, is very natural and lifelike.
