It is the principle alone for which we are contending. But to diminish in some degree the aversion with which the friends of patients are apt to regard this part of the treatment, and overcome their reluctance to make use of it at an early period, when recovery is so much more certain than afterwards, we will suppose a mild case of partial insanity, and show how it would be treated in a respectable asylum.
