Thallus of very minute granules, these forming a continuous or more orless broken, wide-spread, s
...ometimes thick and rugose or rarely evensubareolate, or again thin, smooth, more or less mealy, light or darkergreen-gray, rarely disappearing crust; apothecia minute to middle-sized, 0. 3 to 0. 75 mm. In diameter, dark brown to black, adnate tosub-sessile, flat or becoming convex, with a thin and frequentlyflexuous exciple; hypothecium pale brown to brown; hymenium pale belowand pale brown above; paraphyses coherent, semi-distinct to indistinct;asci long-clavate; spores 4- to 12-celled, 18 to 35 mic.
