Now can we find two kinds of light, of definite re- frangibility, one on earth and one in a star, which we know to be of equal frequency at issue ?
I have already referred to the remarkable spectrum of Sirius, and the overwhelming evidence which the coincidences of so many of its dark lines with the bright lines in the spectrum of incandescent hydrogen afford of the existence of hydrogen in the star.
