What reading level is On the Adjustment And Testing of Telescopic Objectives book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:

Still, an ordinary careful observer should be able to detect it if it exists in a really serious degree.
ZONAL ABERRATION.
Apart from the aberration resulting from the edge rays and central rays not focussing together, there is another serious fault, which perhaps is the one most commonly met with in objectives.
The fault is caused by an objective being divided into zones, greater or less in number, having different foci ; thus several foci are distributed along the optic axis, causing the gene
...ral focus to be indefinite and confused according to the amount of the evil, the effect upon definition being much the same as that produced by spherical aberration, although the latter is the worse fault of the two. The amount of mischief done to the definition may be measured by the length of that part of the optic axis along which the foci are distributed, that is, if the relative arrangement of the zones and their foci are the same. And an objective which is divided into ten zones, whose foci range over one-thirtieth of an 24 inch of the axis, may yield far superior definition to one which is divided into three zones, whose foci vary by one-tenth of an inch.
