To-day there is mutual regard and hearty hospitality on both sides of the Atlantic.
With this growth of respect there has come a desire on the part of many people in this country to connect themselves with their ancestry in England. Since the organization of this Society there has been a marked development of what may be termed the historic sentiment, manifest by the formation of historical societies, and notably by the publication of State, town, and family histories.
