We, of course, remember " Agathos, and other Sunday Stories,'* followed afterwards by the companion volume of " The Rocky Island.'* But be it remembered that these were composed at the outset of Bishop Wilberforce's career, when it was still pos- sible to hope that their author's great powers might produce some permanent additions to our literature, and his restless and crowded public career had not yet opened fully before him.
