What reading level is Our Indian Empire Its Rise And Growth book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:

Runjeet's imbecile son, Khurruk Sing, died in November, 1840, of excess. The real power had belonged to Khurruk's able son, Nao Nihal, who was not unlike his grandfather, and to his minister, Dhyan Sing, brother of Golab Sing, the Rajpoot chief of Jummoo. But Nao Nihal was killed by the fall of a gateway at Khurruk's funeral. Khurruk's widow now became regent for the expected offspring of Nao Nihal's widow, with Dhyan Sing and Shere Sing, a re- puted son of Runjeet, as ministers. But Shere Sing... aspired to the sovereignty, and by bribing and flattering the army gained his ends. Dhyan Sing, who saw himself set aside, then induced Shere Sing to recall to court from banishment a powerful chief called Ajeet Sing, and, persuading the latter that his death was intended, induced him to shoot Shere Sing at a parade. Shere Sing's youthful son, Pertab Sing, was killed at the same time. Ajeet Sing next assassinated his employer Dhyan Sing, but was then himself assassinated by order of Heera Sing, son of Dhyan Sing.
