A'\^hatever opinions may be entertained as to the ■wisdom or justice of the law of primogeniture as thus limited^ it is clear that where a person abso- lutely entitled to an estate in fee simple permits it to descend to his heir^ no inconvenience is caused to any person concerned, at any rate, if the h...eir is of full age. Where, however, the heir was under twenty-one years of age, the land could nience in case not until three or four years ago have of infant heir. ^^^^ ^^j^^ leased, or otherwise dealt with, during the minority of the heir, without great expense and inconvenience. The Settled Land Act 1882 has done much to remedy this state of things by authorizing trustees to act on behalf of infant owners. Still greater inconvenience arose when an estate descended to an infant heir, who was only a trustee for other persons.
