Only the sight of Christ hanging on the Cross, the Sacrifice for man's guilt, can shew the curse and evil of sin ; only that sight can shew God as "just, and the Justifier of him that believeth in Jesus. " Any obscuration of this master-truth must rob the ministry of its strength, and the sinner of his hope.
There are times in the life of every man in whom convictions of sin are deep and real, when this truth only, in its most naked simplicity, stands be- tween him and an infinite despair.
