D-^sir Your several favors written at Richmond Hicks ford and Halifax have been duly received, permit me to thank you for your Attention to the Business of M''^ Edwards and the Information You have Communicated with respect to the Value of the Estate in Virginia — Since the Receipt of Your Letter we have Received an offer for the Plantation of 10000 Dollars — 76 Cash, the Residue to be paid in one year, the punctual payment of which to be secured by a Deposit of Continental Securities — This offer we have agreed to accept notwithstanding the favorable Account you give of the probable rise of the property, under the impression, that it is better to sell for 10,000 DolP on the above Terms, than 15,000 on a Credit — I have Inclosed you a Copy of a Letter this day Received from M^ Smith, if his information & opinion is Correct, which I am Induced to think is the Case.
