With some each one of the four may be the chief cause of sympathy with the emeute. To-day placards on the wall have been plenti- ful. The first announced the postponement of the elections to Sunday, and the measures of " repression " which the Government intended to take. A while afterwards official announce- ments informed the soldiers that they had right to the pay of the National Guard, and the National Guard that on giving up their old guns they would receive Chassepots in exchange.
