The Body of the Laws adopted at an Assembly held at Chester, 7th of loth month, 1682, contained the following provisions :' Chap. 28. " That if any person shall speak write or act anything tending to sedition or disturbance of the peace, and be duly convicted thereof, the party so offending shall for every such offence be ' Duke of York's Book of Laws.
