They hover down on the light clouds around the pious martyr with his quiet, inspired look. There was still another piece which I dare call the fourth of these divine, animated paint- ings, "A Christ," by Carlo Dolce: greatness and suffering were blended together in that noble, resigned face.
I went from room to room, and saw that great collection of art, yet always returned to these four treasures — to Raphael 's " Madonna," and Correggio's group of angels.
