Why did fhe free her eyes On me, to do me honour ?
Ah ! ne'er had I my mind With fuch high hope delighted, Had fhe not firft inclined, And with her eyes invited.

And brisk upon my way 1 fmote the ftroke to fever, And fliould have loft that day My life's delight for ever But when I faw her ftart And turn afide and tremble Ah !
