Alarm was instant given — and the stench In David's tower could not rise from the trench !
His flight discover'd, and the burning mass Of corpses — could astonishment surpass The horror and the sadness of the scene, Which brought to light remains of those who'd been The innocent companions of the man Whose crimes now spread to an enormous span ?
