Chapels are numerous, in some of which may still be seen pictures of Byzantine Saints with inscriptions just Hke those common in orthodox churches of to-day. In the floor of the chapels graves were cut, in some of which we found human skeletons. Zengibar Kalessi is situated about half an hour west of Develi Kara Hissar. It is a lofty rock with two peaks, one of which is consider- ably higher than the other. In the saddle between the two peaks nestles Kalekieui. There can scarcely be a doubt but that the higher peak of Zengibar Kalessi is Nova, the proud rock where Eumenes and his little band defied the whole army of Antigonus for nearly a year.
