Montanans will be informed of the availability of these systems in each polling place through our educational efforts (done in accessible formats), through information at the polling place and in coordination w...ith agencies that provide services for the disability community and the elderly.
The state of Montana will be purchasing the 710 DREs but the storage of the DREs will be the responsibility of each county. After initial training from the vendor, it will also be the responsibility of each county to enter into a maintenance agreement with a vendor.
Although the DREs will meet some of the accessibility for individuals with disabilities requirements under HAVA, they will not meet all of our state needs.
