Announcement was made by Mr. D. G. Chase, the Secretary, that the proceedings of the first annual meeting of the Association had beea printed and forwarded to the Association by Dr. Thomas M. Owen, Director of the Department of Archives and History, of Montgomery.
On motion of the Secretary the Association extended a vote of thanks to Dr. Owen for this courtesy.
Dr. Thomas M. Owen, chairman of the committee on survey of liistory teaching in Alabama, cou...ld not be present, and the committee was continued until the next annual meeting of the Association, when it is requested that a report be made.
Dr. Petrie reported that he had organized local chapters of the Association at Auburn, Montgomery, Marion, Birmingham, and that Tie hoped to organize one at Opelika soon. He requested the teachers to cooperate with him in compiling a complete list of the history teach- ers of the State, by sending him the names and addresses of such teachers.
