The mansion house stands on the bank of the Merrimack, and near the mouth of the Concord, on an elevation of forty feet from the waters surface, at low water ; and is about one hundred rods distance from the Canal, and works of I he Merrimack Company ; and about sixty rods from the house erected and intended for the residence of the agent of the company, all of which are in full view.
