...nsation Act (VFCA) The division administers defined benefit retirement plans for public employees in the State of Montana. The plans have net assets in excess of $2.4 billion. A total of 14,777 retired members and beneficiaries received retirement, disability, or survivor benefits of over $103 million, and 32,596 active members and their employers contributed over $124 million in fiscal year 1996-97. These contributions and disbursements are recorded, processed, and tracked with the aid of the division's computer applications.
